In Native American culture, the appearance of random white feathers signifies rebirth and new beginnings. I have recently retired and decided to travel the states, living on the road in my customized 2003 Dodge conversion van (aptly named Anastasia, her Indian name is White Feather). For at least the next couple of years we will be wandering nomads of the earth. Seeking only a deeper connection with nature. This will be our travel journal...

December is nearly over...
Well, I have had a few requests for me to open up the blog again, there’s not much going on right now as I have been staying either in Ehrenberg or Quartzite for a couple of months now, but here it is. I thought it might be interesting to add a video of the half-mile or so back into my camp at Quartzite just to provide a perspective of the roads I often travel. These roads are in very good shape, many I travel on are considerably worse.
I also took a short video one morning when I was making breakfast, just something to show how the van is setup to utilize the back shelf for cooking and other activities.
I may be making a trip back to Kentucky in the Spring to visit family and friends and to get a few things done to the van, but I really don’t know that for sure. I had originally planned on leaving here and heading up the CA coast into Oregon and Washington, then east, but I may reverse the trip and head back that way when I leave KY. It all depends on the weather.
One thing I can say about both Ehrenberg and Quartzite, is that the sunrises and sunsets are absolutely amazing. Here are some of the shots I’ve taken over the past few weeks.
There are literally dozens more. You can snap a beautiful shot and within five minutes it changes and becomes something almost altogether new.
I don't know when I will be posting again, but I will try to add things as they come. I am moving back to Ehrenberg, from Quartzite today because the temperatures are a bit warmer there by a few degrees and Ehrenberg has the best sunrises and sunsets...
