Bully Reservoir Campground...

I had been driving for 4 to 5 hours and was getting a little weary when I saw a sign for the Bully Creek Reservoir campground. The directions to the BLM land from others who had been there before were spot on. I had to go over two cattle gates in the road and as soon as you pass the second gate you were officially on BLM land. I hung a sharp left and followed a narrow dirt road running just along the fence line. This took me right out on top of an open Butte on the shoreline of the reservoir…

This is every bit as beautiful, and even more so from my perspective, than the pay campsite. In fact, I could see the pay campground from where I was and I really preferred this location. It was a bit windy but the winds weren’t excessive and I had the entire place to myself. I slept that night with the side windows uncovered, watching the changing colors of the sky at sunset and  the amazing stars in the night sky after sunset, it’s a very nice place…
